What is Smilefast?
Smilefast is a revolutionary new cosmetic orthodontic treatment for adults designed to give a significantly improved smile in 6-9 months.
No need to hide your smile whilst wearing braces as Smilefast uses clear brackets and white wires designed to suit your lifestyle, so you can have a confident and affordable smile-fast!
How It Works
The incredible speed and quality of Smilefast treatment is largely due to revolutionary Smilefast technology.
Smilefast provides your dentist with a detailed 3D digital model of your teeth. This model identifies the precise position to place each bracket on your teeth, which is the most important aspect to obtain rapid tooth movement. These braces are then accurately transferred to your mouth via Smilefast’s unique transfer trays. With this technology your dentist can rapidly, yet safely, straighten your teeth.
Smilefast orthodontics are very discreet, using clear brackets and white wires which blend seamlessly with your teeth. No more chunky metal braces!
Am I suitable?

Smilefast can treat a wide variety of common orthodontic issues including crowding, spacing, crooked teeth, and protruding teeth and more.
If you identify with any of these issues, Smilefast may be an ideal option for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How Does Smilefast Work?
Smilefast uses the latest Orthodontic technology to cosmetically align your teeth rapidly, yet safely. Using Smilefast’s exclusive and revolutionary technology your Doctor is able to share with you the final outcome of your treatment before and during treatment. Our technology also allows you to check the progress of your treatment giving you piece of mind.
Q. Do The Clear Braces Discolour?
The braces do not discolour but very tiny elastics are placed around each bracket to hold the wire in position. The elastics can discolour when eating specific foods but there is no need to worry as these elastics are replaced at each visit.
Q. Do I Need To Come In For Adjustment Appointments?
Your Smilefast Dr will see you every 4 weeks, ensuring your treatment is progressing as planned and to give you a great smile in a short period of time.
Q. Is Smilefast Uncomfortable?
Smilefast patients report their braces remain comfortable throughout treatment. Some patients experience minor discomfort following the initial placement of the brackets. This will not interfere with your day to day life and the discomfort will subside within a couple of days.
Q. Does Smilefast Cost More Than Regular Braces?
Smilefast is designed to be more affordable for adults as treatment is completed in a shorter period of time and is therefore less expensive. Your Smilefast Dr understands that costs are often a barrier for patients and flexible payment plans are offered.
Q. Will My Health Insurance Cover My Treatment?
You can claim your Smilefast treatment on your Health Insurance. Please contact your Health Insurance Fund regarding your entitlements.
Q. Smilefast or Clear Aligners – Which Is For Me?
Clear aligners can be effective and may suit people’s lifestyles; however, some tooth movements are best achieved with braces. Aligner treatment can be costly and the average treatment time is 18-24 months. Patients must wear their aligners diligently to achieve the desired result. With Smilefast you do not have to worry about taking out aligners to eat and forgetting to put them back in especially as we all like to “snack” throughout the day! Smilefast will give you a great result in a shorter timeframe at a reduced cost.
Q. Is Smilefast Ideal For Me?
Smilefast is designed with adult needs in mind – to have a great smile in a short amount of time, and isn’t going to break the bank. Smilefast is ideal for many adults dependent on what the major concerns are. Arrange a consultation with your Smilefast Dr and he will be able to determine if Smilefast is the right treatment for you. Smilefast can treat the following concerns but is not limited to: Crowded teeth Spaced teeth Rotated teeth Flared teeth
Q. Will My Teeth Move When My Braces Are Removed?
When your braces are removed retainers will be made for your teeth. A gold wire will be attached to the inside of your lower 6 front teeth. It is advisable to leave this wire on indefinitely. Suitable patients can have a wire bonded to the inside of the upper front teeth also. Most Smilefast patients have a clear retainer made for the upper teeth. It is similar to a very thin mouthguard and is very discreet. The removable retainer is to be worn full time for the first year and then every night for the second year. Patients then try the retainer in 2-3 times per week indefinitely. Teeth will always have a tendency to move, so it is important you follow the Dr’s instructions regarding retainer wear.
Q. Is The Cost Of Retainers Included In the Cost?
The initial retainers are included in the cost of treatment. However, if you damage or lose a retainer additional costs will be incurred. They can be claimed on your Health Insurance.
